The heart of Temuco
This morning we got up early to make the most of the sun. We went into town and walked through the market, where we bought some traditional Mapuche clothes and crafts. The market of Temuco used to be in the building on the photo, but was relocated after the original structure went down in a fire last year. Our host spoke of this with sadness, as for 'los Temuquenses', this market was the heart and lungs of their city.
We're just about to leave the house to leave for Puerto Saavedra. Jacqueline warned us to pack some very warm clothing, as the weather on the coast is set to be quite brutal. We'll be without wifi for the next few days.
